| Felicia Webb is a member
of the Independent Photographers Group in
London. For almost four years she has been
working on a long-term project about people
suffering with eating disorders and obesity.
This was published as a cover story by the
London Sunday Times Magazine, as well as in
France, Italy, Germany, Australia, Denmark,
Holland, Spain and Turkey. In 2001 she was
awarded a place on the World Press Masterclass
in Holland. Her work has been published in
the Sunday Times Magazine, Telegraph Magazine,
New York Times Magazine, TIME, Newsweek, Le
Monde 2, VSD, Elle, Amica, British Journal
of Photography and Royal Photographic Society
magazine, amongst others. She has worked for
several charities including Children’s
Aid Direct, Sargent Cancer Care for Children,
and Sight Savers International. Sight Savers
sent her to India to document their work to
eradicate cataracts, and to Kenya to record
the ascent of Mt Kilimanjaro by 11 blind and
partially-sighted teenagers from Britain and
Africa.In 1999 she spent almost 2 months in
Albania, Macedonia and Kosovo documenting
the plight of women throughout the war, in
words and pictures. She has also worked in
Mexico on a story about the inhabitants of
one of the world’s most dangerous volcanoes;
in the United States with an Amish family;
in Azerbaijan looking at how the oil boom
is affecting people’s lives; in Argentina
on the economic and social crisis; as well
as stories and assignments in the UK. She
previously lived in Latin America for four
years, working as a staff and freelance journalist
in Venezuela and Mexico, and speaks fluent
Spanish and German. |
