It took nine years as a professional in the field of entertainment television to reach the conclusion that his life had to take a U-turn.

"In our time still photography has this amazing built-in mechanism, that people are forced to look longer at the image because it doesn't switch instantly. It's slow storytelling. If the result is good, I know people will get more out photo stories anytime, because it asks the reader to start reflecting", says the Danish-born photographer, who initiated a long term book project on Japanese Sumo Culture. He will return to Japan in 2008 to continue his work.
