William was born in 1977.

His work revolves around social issues (street children in the Philippines, the Madagascan community in France) and humanitarian concerns (the Darfur crisis, the aftermath of the tsunami in Sri Lanka and Indonesia…)

Upon completion of his studies at the Centre Iris, William was awarded a “defi-jeune” grant and then the “Social and Documentary Photography Prize” in 2004 for his report on street children in the Philippines.

The following year, he was commissioned by the Museum of Natural History in Lyon to carry out an exhibition on the Madagascan community.

In 2007, he won the Lagardère Foundation grant, which allowed him to report on the emergent fragile democracy in Kyrgyzstan.

His work on malaria, exhibited on the Pont des Arts in Paris in September 2008 has been recognized with several awards such as the “Espoirs François Chalais” for young reporters, 3rd Prize in the “World Press Photo” awards and 1st Prize in the 2008 “Picture of the Year” awards.

His photographs appear regularly in the French press, most notably in “Le Monde 2” and “L’Express”.
