Minimum Standards for the Protection of Children, Adolescents and Women in Refugee Accommodation Centres

In spring 2016, the German Federal Ministry for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth and UNICEF launched an Initiative to protect children, adolescents and women in refugee accommodation centres. The initiative is being implemented in close cooperation with Germany’s major welfare organizations and other partners. The partners of the initiative developed uniform nationwide Minimum Standards for the protection of children, adolescents and women in refugee accommodation centres in Germany, which are the first of their kind. The Minimum Standards are intended to serve as guidelines for the development and implementation of protection plans in the refugee accommodation centres.
