Frequently Asked Questions about UNICEF TeamPass
UNICEF TeamPass is the membership management system for UNICEF volunteer groups in Germany. Anyone who would like to volunteer with UNICEF to support children’s rights needs their own account with UNICEF TeamPass. With this account, volunteers can also log in to other UNICEF systems, such as UNICEF Campus or the AG intranet.
On this page, you will find frequently asked questions and our answers. If you need further assistance, please feel free to contact our TeamPass support.

Sure, absolutely! Here's an overview of all UNICEF groups in Germany. Just write to the leader of the group you're interested in and ask when you can come to a meeting.
If you like it and want to participate in activities more often, you'll need to register afterward.
With UNICEF TeamPass, you can update your stored data at UNICEF regarding your volunteering engagement at any time, as well as update important consents and your interests.
Group and team leaders can also manage and contact the members of their group.
On the UNICEF Campus, our learning platform for paid and volunteer staff, there are helpful tutorials on how to use UNICEF TeamPass. To access this, simply log in to the UNICEF Campus with your UNICEF TeamPass credentials.
No, that is not possible. UNICEF is intended to be a safe place for children and young people. Our strict child protection policy requires that all volunteers register with UNICEF. You do this by creating an account with UNICEF TeamPass.
No. Your parents or other legal guardians are, of course, welcome at UNICEF. However, if you’re the only one who wants to volunteer with UNICEF at this time, your legal guardians don’t need to create an account. We’ll collect the necessary information from them during your registration.
No, not automatically. When you register with UNICEF TeamPass, you are not automatically signed up to receive donation appeals or other promotional communications from UNICEF.
However, if you volunteer with a UNICEF group, you’ll receive regular emails with information on current issues, emergency relief, campaigns, and developments at UNICEF.
There’s a simple reason for this: People who volunteer for UNICEF are often seen as points of contact for the organization. You don’t have to know everything—but you should have a general understanding of the most important issues. It’s important to us that you’re well-prepared for your volunteer work, which is why we provide you with this exclusive information.
You can delete your UNICEF TeamPass account at any time. To do this, log in to UNICEF TeamPass with your credentials and go to the 'Delete Account' page under 'My Data'. There, you can delete your account with just one click. This will also end your volunteering engagement with UNICEF, unfortunately 💔.
Alternatively, you can ask the leader of the UNICEF group to mark you as an inactive member. In that case, your account will be automatically deleted after 14 days.
Please note that UNICEF in Germany must fulfill certain retention obligations. You can read about which data we must retain and for how long after your volunteering engagement in the UNICEF TeamPass data protection policy
No, don't worry. Your data from the AG intranet was automatically transferred when UNICEF TeamPass launched. You don't need to create a new account; you can log in to UNICEF TeamPass using your existing login credentials.
Please note that you no longer log in to UNICEF TeamPass with a username, but with your email address.
Please check your spam folder first. If the email isn't there, contact UNICEF TeamPass Support at the top of this page.
No, for technical reasons, you cannot currently change your email address yourself in UNICEF TeamPass. In urgent cases, please contact UNICEF TeamPass Support so we can make this change for you.
No problem: Your account won’t be deleted just because you haven’t participated in activities or meetings for a while.
If your activity has never been confirmed or hasn’t been confirmed for more than a year, your account will be automatically reviewed. Your group leader will then contact you. Only if they can no longer reach you will they mark your account as inactive, and it will be automatically deleted after 14 days. You’ll be notified of this in a timely manner via email.
This is how we ensure that your personal data is stored in accordance with the GDPR only for as long as you remain an active volunteer with UNICEF.
JuniorTeams are volunteer UNICEF groups for young people between the ages of 13 and 18. For adults between the ages of 18 and 30, there are UNICEF university groups throughout Germany. Although the name suggests that they are for students, apprentices and young professionals are also welcome.
As the United Nations Children’s Fund, our organization is committed to always being a safe space for children and young people. Our strict child protection policy therefore ensures that individuals over the age of 18 cannot join JuniorTeams through the UNICEF TeamPass without being vetted. However, we also aim to offer everyone in Germany the opportunity to work with UNICEF to advocate for children’s rights—at every stage of their lives.
Maybe you just turned 18, are still in school, and would feel more comfortable in a JuniorTeam? If so, follow these steps:
- Select a JuniorTeam near you.
- When registering via UNICEF TeamPass, you won’t be able to select this JuniorTeam based on the date of birth you provided. Instead, select the working group for the location where your desired JuniorTeam is based.
- Once you’ve completed registration, ask the leader of that working group to review your application to join the JuniorTeam. They’ll explain all the steps required in accordance with our child protection policy.
- Once this review is complete, the working group leader will assign you to your desired JuniorTeam, and you’re ready to go!
Thank you—we're glad to hear that. Yes, even if you're only volunteering with UNICEF on a seasonal basis to help sell UNICEF greeting cards, you still need to register with a UNICEF group and create an account with UNICEF TeamPass.
No. Each person can only be a member of one UNICEF group at a time. This ensures clear responsibilities, simplifies administration, and reduces red tape—leaving more time for volunteer work. If you move, you can change your UNICEF group in UNICEF TeamPass on your own.
You don't need to do that. Once you complete your registration with UNICEF TeamPass, these accounts will be set up automatically. You can log in to all UNICEF systems for volunteers using the same login credentials you use to access UNICEF TeamPass. If you delete your UNICEF TeamPass account, the accounts in linked systems will also be removed.
This could be for the following reasons:
- The terms of use for UNICEF systems have changed and you have not yet agreed to them
- The guidance framework for collaboration within UNICEF groups has been updated and you have not yet agreed to it
- Your declaration of commitment (SVE) regarding UNICEF child protection is missing or has expired
- You are a minor and we do not have the consent of a legal guardian for your voluntary work with UNICEF
To check whether you need to take any action, open your checklist in UNICEF TeamPass. There you will also find instructions on how to provide or obtain any missing consents. Have you completed all the tasks on your checklist but still can’t log in to the AG intranet?
Perhaps the leadership of your UNICEF group hasn’t yet confirmed your activity, or hasn’t done so for over a year. Please ask the head of your UNICEF group to confirm your activity. And if it still doesn’t work, the UNICEF TeamPass support team at the top of this page will be happy to help you.

UNICEF TeamPass stores the data you provide when you register or in the ‘My Account’ section, such as your name, email address, date of birth and interests. Any subsequent changes, as well as the assignment of profiles or teams by your manager, are also stored in your account. You can find out more in our Privacy Policy.
UNICEF respects your right to privacy and adheres to the data protection principles set forth in Article 5 of the GDPR, including the principle of data minimization. We collect and process only the data necessary for the purpose of your involvement.
To ensure that UNICEF itself is a safe place for children and young people, we have a strict child protection policy in place. To this end, we must be able to uniquely identify every individual among the thousands of UNICEF volunteers in Germany.
For people with common first and last names, providing an address and date of birth helps us distinguish them from others with the same name. To avoid mix-ups, we therefore need not only the first and last name but also the address and date of birth of every person who wishes to volunteer with UNICEF.
Your data in UNICEF TeamPass is protected and will not be shared with third parties. Access is limited to individuals who truly need this information for your work with UNICEF.
UNICEF TeamPass also specifies exactly who is authorized to view which data.
Only selected full-time UNICEF staff members and the law firm that verifies your Extended Certificate of Good Conduct (EFZ) on our behalf have full access to your personal data. This is important so that we can clearly identify you. You can find more information on this under the question: “Why do I have to provide my address and date of birth on UNICEF TeamPass?”
The leaders of your UNICEF group and, if applicable, team leaders can only see the information they need to work with you: your name, age, and contact information.
Of course! To do this, log in with your UNICEF TeamPass account and go to the “My Account” section. There you'll find an overview of all the features for viewing and updating your personal information and consent settings.
Any changes you make to your information via UNICEF TeamPass are automatically synced with other UNICEF systems.
Most of the time, you’ll be in direct contact with the leader of your UNICEF group or a team leader within your UNICEF group. However, you must not keep your own records in the group’s offices or on the leaders’ personal devices, as we would not be able to guarantee the protection of your data.
Instead, there’s UNICEF TeamPass. Your contact information is secure there. A strict access control system determines who can view it. And as soon as you end your volunteer role or switch to another UNICEF group, your previous group leader will no longer be able to access your data.
